A. Historical Context – It’s All New Bullshit From Rome

The Catholic Roman Church’s (Governments) “Nicean Christianity” was the Pagan Emperor approved bishops convening to delete 1/3 of the Bible as the ancients knew it. The Ethiopian Canon still includes them, the oldest on earth. They are responsible for censoring the true bible and forcing people into intermediary salvation middlemen, fact checking (Like Facebook fact checks for fake news…deceptively and with an agenda) and killing anyone who disagreed with them.

…The long-held claim that the Roman Catholic Church was the only church which never changed is not supported by church history not even Roman Catholic history. How sad to realize that this false claim influenced so many to join or to stay in this false church which actually is the product of centuries of changes. Most of these changes came as a result of yielding to heathen customs and practices which were subsequently incorporated into Roman Catholic teachings and worship. The following is a partial list of heathen, unscriptural practices which became a part of Roman Catholic dogma over a period of seventeen centuries. Some of the dates given are approximate. In many cases, these heresies were even debated for years before being given the status of required beliefs:

Although some of the preceding Roman Catholic heresies are now being questioned by many, both inside and outside the church, none have been officially repudiated and all continue to be practiced by millions of Catholics around the world. The urgent need today is for Roman Catholics; yes, and all who claim to be Christians, to examine their own beliefs and the teachings of their churches by the only sure standard – the Bible. Whatever contradicts, adds to or subtracts from the Holy Scriptures, is error no matter how many may cling to it.

Roman Catholics who read the Bible will soon discover that many Catholic teachings and practices are specifically forbidden by Jesus Christ Himself.

During the past forty years, at least three important trends in the Roman Catholic Church are clearly observable. These are: (1) A greater emphasis upon the place of Mary. (2) A major emphasis upon ecumenical activities with a view to seeking the full visible unity of all religions. (3) The acceptance of the so-called Charismatic renewal within the Church with new emphasis upon the claimed “ministry of the Holy Spirit.” There is every reason to believe that all of these major trends will continue and increase; and, all of them are very deceptive, very dangerous, very unscriptural.

The place accorded Mary in the Roman Catholic Church is not Scriptural nor is it new, but it cannot be denied that, during the last one hundred years, veneration of Mary has dramatically increased, Note that the exaltation of Mary and the term, Mother of God, became official Catholic dogma in 431 A.D.). with prayers to her proclaimed in 600 A.D. But, note also that the “Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary” was not proclaimed until 1854; her “Assumption” not until 1950; and her title “Mother of the Church” not until as recently as 1965.

Some Roman Catholic observers believe it may not be much longer until Mary is officially proclaimed “Co-redemptrix with Christ.” In fact, the premier issue of a recent Roman Catholic publication, Catholic Heritage (Vol. 1, No. 1, Sept-Oct 1991) has the front page title: “Mary, Mother of the Church,” and, in a Question and Answer column, the question is asked, “At the foot of the cross, Mary shared in the mystery of the passion. True or False? Answer: True. Mary united her sorrows to those of hey Son. The sorrowful and immaculate heart of Mary bled with her Son for all of mankind. For this reason, we invoke her under the title of Co-redemptrix.”

Colossians 1:14, KJV: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins

Jesus dies for us, and Catholic essentially say “Thanks, Mary!” While violating almost every law He kept and died to write onto our hearts that we would remember it.

All of the popes during the past thirty years have done their part to increase the influence of Mary in the Roman Catholic Church based completely on tradition rather than upon the Bible. In the August 28, 1975 issue of the official Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, Pope Paul VI, speaking of the ceremony celebrated the day before in St. Peter’s in honor of the Madonna at the Feast of the Assumption of Mary said, “Her venerated image, known as Salus Populi Romani’ was carried in procession from St. Mary Major’s as part of the Holy Year ceremonies, so that the overflow crowd of pilgrims, coming from all parts of the world, could see it and thus increase their devotion to her. In this way we should all be reminded of the meaning and practice of the cult of Mary, inseparable from the unique and central cult of Christ …Let us pray to her with humble, trusting and childlike faith.”

 

A1. Mithraism

It is a commonly held belief among modern day churches that the predominance of Christianity resulted in Mithraic worship dying out in the 4th century. Such is not the case, Mithraism did not die out, rather Emperor Constantine the Great incorporated Mithraic beliefs and doctrines into the church during the fouth century, combining the two religions under the one banner of Christianity. Following 300 years of persecutions, there weren’t many early Christian believers left to protest and resist the intrusion and takeover of Mithraism into the church. They had all died refusing to accommodate it.

Constantine the Great was an avid Mithras worshipper and his devoted mother Helena, a great worshipper of Ishtar, ‘My Lady’, the Queen of Heaven. As well as transferring most of the doctrines and tenants of Mithraism, he also turned the shrines and temples of Mithras and Helena into Christian churches after his claimed ‘conversion’ to Christianity in 312 AD. He didn’t abandon his occult practices after his conversion, but brought them into the church. His did this because Christianity and Mithraism were now so similar in their doctrines and tenants, it seemed logical to create one state religion out of the two that could would adopted universally without question by followers of both throughout The Roman Empire. Most of the Christian churches were built over the top of shrines and temples of Mithraism. In 1954 when rebuilding the bombed ruins of St. Paul’s cathedral, another shrine of the cult god Mithras was unearthed in the ruins.

To show the validity of this change over without conversion, a worship decree was issued by the Emperor Constantine in the year 321 AD., which was some nine years after his supposed conversion – Constantine, Emperor Agustus, to Helidus: “On the venerable day of the sun let the magistrates, and the people residing in cities rest, let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits”. Note here the day mentioned; ‘The venerable day of the sun’, the special day dedicated to the cult sun-god, Mithras , the first day of the week, SUNDAY! This was the first recorded blue Sunday law. In short, Constantine had never given up worshipping on his beloved ‘venerable day of the sun’, the day totally dedicated to the sun-god Mithras , the ‘son of the sun-god’, he simply changed the day of Christian worship from Saturday to Sunday. Only the name of the god Mithras had to be changed to Christ. There was little need to change anything else, as the doctrines and teachings of Mithras had already been transferred and assimilated into the church

In his edict of Milan, issued in 313AD., a year after his supposed conversion, tolerance and equality were proclaimed to other cults and religions within the state, however anyone who persisted in observing any other day than their ‘venerable day of the sun’, the state promoted day, were actively persecuted, therefore any Sabbath keeper had to go underground. At this time, the seven Mithraic sacraments were adopted (retained in Catholicism to this day) and Christmas and Easter, Mithraic holidays were also brought in.

The female companion cult to this male’s only religion, a dedication to the fertility goddess, Ishtar, the Queen of heaven, or Magnus Mater, was also incorporated into Christianity. Mary the mother of Jesus was deified and renamed Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, the title previously bestowed on the fertility goddess, Ishtar.

The moon was her planet and she was assigned the second day of the week – Moon day, our Monday, since the moon was the next largest orb in our heavens. At the first full moon of spring in the northern hemisphere, that is at the end of our March, in Babylonian times the pagan son of the sun-god, Demuzi, or Tammuz, the forerunner of Mithras , descended into the nether world, to be rescued by his mother/lover, Ishtar, the fertility goddess, and on being rescued participated in an act of human procreation. Rabbits and eggs were symbols of this fertility rite. Little round cakes, from which our hot cross buns originated, were also baked in honour to this Ishtar, the Queen of Heaven, and were marked with the Mithran cross of light. The evidence of this is found in Jeremiah’s time

Jer.7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. See also Jer.44: 17-19.

These practices were merged into the church to where today we have a combination of both the pagan Mithraism and Queen of heaven worship via the Protestant Easter and the Catholicism celebration of Mary.

In the northern hemisphere the winter solstice falls on December 22/23, thus making this time the sun’s most weakest point of the year, so it was then reckoned to be the time of its yearly death. But then, two days after this point, the sun becomes stronger and begins rising earlier each day, so the ancients considered that it was the time of rebirth and hence declared a few days after as being the birthday of the sun (son), that is, Mithras ‘s birthday! Since Constantine was incorporating the stories of Jesus and Mithras into one, it was only natural that he should declare Christ’s birthday the same as Mithras ‘s birthday – December 25 – the most important date on the Babylonian calendar year. Likewise, Jesus must rise on the third day, even though the Gospels indicate that Jesus had already risen by the second day after his death.

Mithras ‘s cave-temple on the Vatican Hill was seized by Christians in 376 AD. Christian bishops of Rome pre-empted even the Mithraic high priest’s title of Pater Patrum, which became Papa (or Pope). First we had Constantine adopting Christianity into Mithaism, now, we have Christianity copying and assimilating the pagan aspects of Mithraism. Both would become assimilated into each other creating a false and delusional mystery cult religion. There are seven hills in Rome, and the Vatican was built on top of the Mithras ‘s cave-temple, just as other churches had been built on top of ancient Mithras temples.

The head of the Mithraic faith was called Pater Patrum, “Father of the Fathers”, and was seated at Rome; similarly the head of the Church was the Papa, or “Father”, now known as the Pope, who was also seated at Rome. He too is still referred to as “Father of the Fathers”, the other “Fathers” being the many Fathers who run local Catholic congregations. The Pope’s crown is called a tiara, but a tiara is a Persian, and hence perhaps a Mithraic headdress. The ancient chair preserved in the Vatican and supposed to have been the pontifical throne used by St. Peter, is in reality of pagan origin, and may possibly be Mithraic also, for it has upon it certain pagan carvings connected with Mithras .

Christianity thus became a synthesis of Mithraistic thought on eternal life gained from the blood of the sacrificed saviour (like a bull), the ultimate sacrifice. The imagery of the blood of Jesus washing away sins and granting eternal life (like Mithras ), are all derived from the natural Roman merging of Judaism with Mithraism, as they were never part of Jesus’ teaching (check the four gospels and see for yourself if you don’t believe me). The transformation of Mithras into a Bull or Ram which preceded the eating of his flesh and blood directly parallels the Christians Jesus’ death and rebirth, and his statement that his disciples should eat and drink his flesh and blood to wash away sin and gain eternal life.

Another image from Mithras that found its way into Christianity was the cross. Images of Mithras often show him standing on a sphere (not the Earth) that symbolizes the Universe (Cosmos). The Ancients believed that when the creator of the universe first formed the cosmos, he shaped its substance in the form of a cross, representing the intersection of the two celestial circles of the zodiac and the celestial equator. This cross-shaped symbol was often depicted in ancient art to indicate the cosmic sphere. It was signified by worshippers of Mithras who would form the sign of the cross before a statue of Mithras by moving their index finger from their right shoulder to the left, then down from their forehead to their waste. Emperor Constantine apears to have introduced the practice of making the sign of the cross on one’s self into Roman Catholic worship, a practice continued to this day. Note that this is not representative of the cross of Jesus, which would has a much longer vertical line than the horizontal. On the Mithran cross, as with the Catholic sign of the cross, the bars are of equal length and intersect in the middle. The Christian cross, universally represented as a crucifix, was only introduced into religious art as late as the 6th century.

The “X” shaped Mithran Cross had its origins in the ‘Crux Ansata’, which was carried in the hands of the Egyptian priests and Pontiff kings as the symbol of their authority as priests of the Sun god and was called ‘the Sign of Life”. It appears directly in the center of many of the ceremonial crucifixes of the catholic church. It also appears on Easter or Hot Cross Buns. The Mithraic festival of Ishtar (Easter) celebrated the birth of Spring. It was thus timed to coincide with the ‘immaculate’ conception of Mithras , hence the practice of giving Easter Eggs. The fleet ensign of Christopher Columbus, who sail to and discovered the New World in 1492, was the Mithran Cross. It was also used by the Crusader Knights and the Knights Templar.

Understanding Emperor Constantine, Mithraism and the fertile Pagan background environment of the Roman Catholic Church will help explain many beliefs and practices seen today. Mithraism is about the worship of the sun — which was titled Mithras Solis Invictus (Mithras, the unconquered sun). The “mysteries” of this religion were revealed ONLY to the initiates, who were predominantly soldiers of the Roman army. They spread this religion all over the civilized world by way of the good Roman roads. Mithraism was THE PRIMARY RELIGION OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE FROM 222 B.C. THROUGH THE 4th-CENTURY A.D. It was the chief rival of Christianity, which history shows COMPROMISED radically in order to convert pagans into believers.

The doctrines, feast dates, rituals, accouterments, and organizational structure of Mithraism have SCARCELY changed at all since that time. The religion of Mithraism itself was the result of a MERGER of the astrology of the Chaldean priests of Marduk (Baal) with the Indo-Iranian priests of Mithras. The sun-idol Mithras, is mentioned in the sacred writings of both cults — the Avesta and the Vedas. The sun-idol is called “THE LORD” in both. The Hindu Krishna is called “THE LORD,” as you will recall the syncretistic lyrics in the song, My Sweet Lord by George Harrison of the Beatles, where vocalists chant hare Krishna interchangeably with hallelu Yah. All the while the song BLENDS the concepts under the impersonal, indefinite and vague title, Lord.

By the 4th-century A.D., the sect of Hebrewism called the N’TZARIM no longer existed openly, and Gnostic clones of it had sprung up and began to compete with Mithraism for dominance. One historian said, “The entire European continent and New World would be Mithraic today if Christianity hadn’t come along.” Other historians have put it another way: “Christianity didn’t conquer Mithraic Paganism. Mithraism blended in, and CHANGED NAMES.”

 

A2. Mithraic Doctrine

1) The center of the Mithraic sun-cult was at ROME.

2) The leader of the ritual service was titled PATER, Latin for father — inherited by the priesthood of Catholicism (against Matthew 23:9), and they wore CRUXES as amulets, with costumes of black, having NEHRU collars, originating from the Indo-Iranian roots.

3) There was a PATER-PATRATUS over the paters — a papa or POPE.

4) The hierarchy initiates below pater were called BROTHERS.

5) The cult was for MEN ONLY.

6) The cult had the Trinity: MITHRAS, RASHNU and VOHU MANAH — 3 “persons,” but yet “one.”

7) SUN-DAY was kept hallowed in honor of Mithras — the sun — called Mithras Solis Invictus. This has produced our popular name for the first day of the week, Sunday. The pattern of resting on Sun-day comes to us directly through what is called the BLUE LAWS, enforced first throughout the Roman Empire then through the western traditions into our New World. The edict was initiated by Constantine I, forbidding officials, artisans or merchants from engaging in any work on the SUN-DAY, to give honor to the sun, MITHRAS.

8) There were 5 levels within the hierarchy.

9) DECEMBER 25 was observed as MITHRAS’ BIRTHDAY, called “Natalis Invictus” — the rebirth of the winter sun, unconquered.

10) Initiates had to undergo a ritual sprinkling (affusion, which involved being under a bull, or Taurus which, being cut to death, allowed the initiate to become saturated with blood. The custom of bloody BULLFIGHTS seen in Spain harken back to this cult. (The custom of performing Christian “baptisms” in the spring at Easter-time will take on greater meaning as we learn the following information).

11) Special value was attributed to the moral virtues of religion, truthfulness, purity and generosity.

12) Mithraists would enter “paradise” (a Persian word itself, also called Eleusian Fields, Nirvana and Nether World) by the THREE STEPS:

(a) The Good Thought.
(b) The Good Word.
(c) The Good Deed.

13) The cult supported the DIVINE RIGHT OF KINGS (including Emperor worship).

14) The PATER (father) stood at one end of an oblong room, performing mysterious blood rituals. There was an indoor altar at his end on which a victim (Latin, “host”) was SACRIFICED. They had a sun-shaped wafer disc like the Egyptians, and the assembly knelt, sat and stood in unison.

 

A3. Jerome and the Great Word Shift

It was during this time of the clash — when Christianity and Mithraism MERGED — that Jerome translated the Greek writings of the New Testament into Latin (391-403). His real name was Eusebius Heirymonius Sophronius. He took the Greek word STAUROS (beam, stake, pole) and carried it over to the Latin word CRUX. This was an important SHIFT in the meaning of the original word. The Hebrew term was “NAS” — used for the word “POLE” that the serpent was lifted up on. To a Mithraist the CRUX had a significant religious meaning. It could be represented as an “X” or a vertical line crossed horizontally. In the spring, when the Mithraists sacrificed a Taurus (bull), the sun was CROSSING the celestial equator and was in the zodiac sign of the Taurus. (“Zodiac” actually means animal figures, related to the word “zoo”). These rabid Pagans allegorized or interpreted this as the sun (Mithras) OVERCOMING THE BULL and crossing the celestial equator — so the cross was their most cherished religious symbol.

In one of its Babylonian forms, it was a tilted crux with an arrow point at the high end, representing Nimrod standing on the tower shooting his hunter arrow at the skies. It was a bow and arrow. He may have even done this, shooting at the constellation Taurus. This is the link with the “Golden Calf.” We still call the center of an archery target “the bull’s eye.” The sign of the cross was a Pagan sign of overcoming. The Babylonian constellation Orion the Hunter (Archer) represents Nimrod of Babylon.

The cross symbols of many different Pagan cults from around the world is what scholars call “the symbol of the sun, par excellence.” The words we have inherited from Jerome’s Latin translation include cross, crucifixion and crosier. So “cross” is a Latinism.

 

A4. The Cross, the Occult and the Olympic Games!

The Pagans practiced Astromancy, Pyromancy, Necromancy and other OCCULT forms of divination, and the CROSS was intimately linked to their rituals — and still is. A “Black Mass” uses the cross and was practiced long before Christianity existed.

Since the Earth Mother was thought to be “fertilized” in the spring (Ishtar, or Easter), the Babylonian symbol for woman was also a cross with the sun circle above it (the sun did the “fertilizing”). If you research Emperor Constantine, you will learn that he had a vision of the sun with a cross beneath it — the same symbol used for “female” today in biology, a type of ankh.

The circle is also interpreted as the sun, and “circuses” like the ones held by Emperor Caligula were occultic religious displays involving animals of the Zodiac, and THREE “RINGS.” The Olympic Games today use 5 rings as a logo, representing the 5 original PLANETARY DEITIES worshipped in Babylon. In fact, it is still the custom to carry a TORCH lit by the “SACRED FIRE” altar on Mount Olympus to the site of the games. Where the games are held, AN ALTAR DEDICATED TO ZEUS is lighted with this torch — so all the nations and athletes who participate are unknowingly WORSHIPPING ZEUS. Human traditions may appear innocent, but if you can easily trace their origins to ancient Paganism, THEY ARE ABOMINATIONS TO YEHOVAH GOD!

 

A5. Constantine’s Pagan Connection

Emperor Constantine is the connection which bonded Paganism to the belief in Yeshua the Messiah. Excused as “inculturation,” paganism POISONED the message of repentance beyond all recognition.

Constantine made Christianity the Roman State Religion — but it’s form was FAR from anything known to the first Nazarenes. Constantine had to MERGE the multitudes of Pagans — who were mostly his own soldiers — with the Nazarene faith in order to control his vast empire. This reconciliation, or MERGER of the Nazarene faith with MITHRAISM produced what we see today as “Christianity” — in particular the Roman Catholic Church. He made the cross the PRIMARY SYMBOL of this new merger, thus rallying the Pagans around its emotional meaning. Constantine CONFUSED Mithras and the Messiah together, borrowing from the Pagan background of SUN-WORSHIP for every interpretation. Alexander Hislop, in his work The Two Babylons, wrote about this same topic over 100 years ago, and explained how this FUSION occurred with Christianity:

“To conciliate the Pagans to nominal Christianity, Rome, pursuing its usual policy, took measures to get CHRISTIAN and PAGAN festivals amalgamated, and by a complicated but skillful adjustment of the CALENDAR, it was found no difficult matter, in general, to get Paganism and Christianity — now far sunk in idolatry — in this as in so many other things, to shake hands.”

Constantine adopted the insignia called the “LABARUM” — a cross with a wreath above it with the Greek letters CHI and RHO inside it. He had it displayed on the shields of his soldiers as the “Christian” emblem to go forth to conquer in. In the Middle Ages the nations of Europe joined forces with the Papacy to launch “crusades,” not only against the Moslems in the Middle East, but against the Albigenses and Waldensians in France, independent Christian groups which foreshadowed the Protestant Reformation by several hundred years, and “crusades” against the Jews in Eastern Europe. The Crusades were launched with the marauding murderers wearing large red cruxes emblazoned on their chests. The word “Crusade” refers to this crux. They were sent off by various popes to primarily recapture the holy land from “the infidels.” Killing, raping, looting and burning libraries in their path, these thirteen “divine campaigns” defy description. They flung the civilized world into the dark ages — and made no small contribution to the spread of the Black Death. The “cross” of the Church was bathed in blood from one end of Europe to the other, and in Asia.

The main issue at his Nicene Council in 325 A.D. centered on the date of EASTER, again the most important point in the Pagan mind when the sun crossed the Zodiac at Taurus. Constantine reinvented the meaning behind Easter in order to desolate Passover. He also established the practice of Sun-day worship, superseding the scriptural day of rest — the Sabbath — which is the sign that we worship the true Creator — YHWH God. He claimed the resurrection as the reason for both Easter and Sun-day — and HE GOT AWAY WITH IT!

 

A6. The Influence of Constantine

When Constantine became Emperor of Rome, he nominally at least became a “Christian.” But being the head of a far-flung political Empire, he was concerned about the unity and coherence and stability of his Empire. As a sagacious politician, he sought to reconcile and blend and mesh pagan practices with “Christian” beliefs, to merge paganism with the Roman church. Constantine promulgated the “Edict of Toleration” in A.D. 313. He became emperor in A.D. 323, and “then Christianity was enthroned” (Jesse Lyman Hurlbut, The Story of the Christian Church, p. 74). From this time, for the next two hundred years, all persecutions of Christians of the Roman church, and its adherents, ceased. The sword of persecution was “not merely sheathed; it was buried” (ibid., p. 75).

But Jesse Hurlbut laments the results of Constantine’s making Christianity the state religion, free from all persecution. From that time, he points out, the church became totally subverted by politics and self-seeking opportunists.

“…the establishment of Christianity as the state religion became a CURSE.

“Everybody sought membership in the church, and nearly everybody was received. Both good and bad, sincere seekers after God and hypocritical seekers after gain, rushed into the communion. Ambitious, worldly, unscrupulous men sought office in the church for social and political influence….

‘The services of worship increased in splendor, but were less spiritual and hearty than those of former times. The forms and ceremonies of PAGANISM GRADUALLY CREPT INTO THE WORSHIP. Some of the OLD HEATHEN FEASTS BECAME CHURCH FESTIVALS WITH CHANGE OF NAME AND OF WORSHIP” (Hurlbut, The Story of the Christian Church, p. 79, emphasis mine).

How did it happen? Obviously, something strange and weird was going on!

Will Durant, renowned historian, in his massive work The Story of Civilization, wrote in volume III, entitled Caesar and Christ, that in the new “church” that developed in the Roman Empire, the Jewishness of Jesus was lost or rejected, and replaced with Greek philosophy and thought; the “Law” of the Jews was rejected, and, he writes,

“…the god Christ was assimilated to the religious and philosophical traditions of the Hellenistic mind. Now the PAGAN WORLD — even the anti-Semitic world — could accept him as its own.

 

B. The Mass

“CHRISTIANITY DID NOT DESTROY PAGANISM; IT ADOPTED IT. * Pope John Paul II concedes that the Church historically did not hold to a Roman Catholic view of Mary. In 1995, he said,

“Many centuries were necessary to arrive at the explicit definition of the revealed truths concerning Mary.” (Source)

What is interesting to note is that, if this Pope is correct, not a single member of the Early Church would be considered an orthodox Roman Catholic today. One such member was John Chrysostom, who, in his Homilies on the Gospel of John, speculated that Mary may have sinfully experienced pride over the fact that Jesus was her son.

“Perhaps too she had some human feelings, like His brethren, when they said, Show yourself to the world, desiring to gain credit from His miracles. Therefore He answered somewhat vehemently, saying, Woman, what have I to do with you? My hour is not yet come.”

One notable example of a difference between the view of the Early Church and the Roman Catholic Church is the condemnation of the Collyridian sect. In his work entitled Against Heresies, while listing groups that according to him, “have Christ’s name only but not his faith,” Epiphanius described the Collyridians, who, “offer a loaf in the name of the Virgin Mary.” This is a description of worship. In fact, Patrick Madrid himself even professed this was the heresy of the ancient Collyridians.

D7. Transsubstantiation – Cannibalism and Consumption of Blood is Forbidden.

If they should fall away and renew themselves (as if it wasn’t sufficient, to die for us once) – they repeat the shame of Christ over and over.

Forbidden by YHWH’s eternal old testament law, there aren’t any mentions of cannibalism in The New Testament but there is a passage that does cause some confusion where Jesus is talking about his body and blood. A literal interpretation could be mistaken for cannibalism.

Jesus painted pictures with His words when He taught and often referred to Himself as inanimate objects or life-giving objects. He is the bread of life (John 6:35). He is living water (John 4:14). He is the temple that would be destroyed and rise again (John 2:19).

John 6:53-56 ESV So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.

In the passage above, we see Jesus referring to Himself as the source of life: food and drink. We know that Christ is the perfect sacrifice, the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Christ was appealing to the Jews to accept the perfect sacrifice, His broken body and spilled blood in order to spend eternity with Him. This is an act of faith, a beautiful picture of atonement, and a far cry from cannibalism.

E. Idolatry: Deified Apostles – Forced Apotheosis (The Rape of Their Identities)

“Here’s a great passage from Acts. Here, the people of Lycaonia immediately wanted to start worshiping the apostles as the gods the Catholic Church eventually turned them into. Note the reaction Paul and Barnabas have to the people’s attempted worship of them.

“11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, all things that are therein…”

 

F. Repetitive Prayers

The Bible condemns praying the Rosary, rebuking repetitive prayers:

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

~Matthew 6:7-8

Note carefully the following warnings given by the Lord Jesus Christ to the religious leaders of His day concerning vain worship, vain tradition and vain repetitions. All of these are particularly applicable to Roman Catholicism today. Vain worship: In Matthew 15:8-9, Jesus said, ‘This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandment of men.” All worship is indeed vain when it is based upon the commandments of men rather than the Word of God. Vain tradition: In Matthew 15:6b, Jesus said, ‘Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.”

[Note: Valid tradition is based upon Scripture and confirms it. Vain tradition is based upon man’s teachings and violates it. In Roman Catholicism, tradition is consistently elevated above the Scripture which results in vain worship (no matter how sincere) and makes the commandment of God of no effect – a very serious matter.]

Vain Repetition: In Matthew 6:7, Jesus said, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” A basic part of Roman Catholic worship is the frequent repetition of The Rosary whose origin is clearly tied to heathen religions such as Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism. Roman Catholics should listen to the words of Christ forbidding vain repetitions, rather than using the vain repetitions of Catholicism.

 

G. Easter

These historical observations ought to make us sit up and take notice! The ‘Christianity” that we see around us in the world today is but a “spin-off” of this ancient syncretism or ‘blending” and “merging” of PAGANISM into the professed Church of Jesus the Messiah, which had lapsed into political apostasy, profligacy and impurity. The descendants of the once chaste and pure virgin of the Messiah, the New Testament Church, had seemingly become, for all intends and purposes, the religious WHORE of Babylon — a bejeweled and bedecked and bedeviled slut and trollop, a “shady lady,” a spiritual PROSTITUTE!

“Paganism” was not defeated by the Church. It invaded the church, infiltrated it, and seduced it from within! The professing Christian Church became the “new face of paganism”! Only the “names” were changed. And in some cases — as in “Easter” Sunday — even the old pagan names were left in place!

H. G. Wells, in his Outline of History, discusses the transformation of the teachings of the Messiah into the pagan worship of the heathen, calling itself “Christian.” He notes:

“The observance of the Jewish Sabbath, again, TRANSFERRED TO THE MITHRAIC SUN-DAY, is an important feature of many Christian cults…He [Jesus] did not say a word about the worship of his mother Mary in the guise of ISIS, THE QUEEN OF HEAVEN. Much that is most characteristically Christian [so-called] in worship and usage, he ignored. Skeptical writers have had the temerity to deny that Jesus can be called a Christian at all” (p. 445, emphasis mine, of course).

How did this happen? How did Mithraism, with its December 25 worship, and Sun-day worship, contribute these prominent “holidays” to the established “Christian” Church? How did paganism overtake, overcome, and subdue, the original teachings of the Church of Jesus the Messiah, and his apostles, and replace Biblical holy days with pagan “holy days”? Should all true Christians be concerned about this historic truth — this reality? Doesn’t it really matter?

What should these facts mean to us, today, who seek to obey YHWH God, and follow the Messiah of the Bible, who seek to be TRUE followers of the Word of YHWH?

hesitated to say that St. Peter’s episcopate and residence in Rome ought to be classed with ridiculous legends.’ Eusebius, one of the most learned men of his time, wrote the Church history up to the year 325 A.D. He said that Peter never was in Rome….

“Mark you, all the priests agree that the Vatican and St. Peter’s were built over a pagan cemetery….You realize surely that Christians would never bury their dead in a pagan cemetery, and you may be very sure that pagans would never allow a Christian to be buried in their cemetery. So, even if Peter died in Rome, which is out of the question, surely the pagan cemetery under St. Peter’s Basilica would be the last place in which he would have been buried….

“… But they have said that after all these years of excavation under the Vatican, they have discovered Greek words which read, ‘Peter is buried here,’ and it gives the date 160 A.D. Nothing is said about them, and only after persistent questioning will the Roman Catholic priest, who acts as guide, tell you that those things (images, etc.) were placed there centuries after the early Christian era.

Since then multiplied millions were thereby deceived into believing that the remains of St. Peter were there, which the hierarchy had all along known was not true, as is proven by the late Pope’s declaration. The following was published in Newsweek of July 1, 1957:

‘It was in 1950 that Pope Pius XII in his Christmas message announced that the tomb of St. Peter had indeed been found, as tradition held, beneath the immense dome of the Cathedral (there was, however, no evidence that the bones uncovered there belonged to the body of the martyr).’ …

The dogma of TRANS-SUBSTANTIATION that popped up in 1215 caused many people to lose their lives. The idiot was looking really closely at the finger, because when the Messiah said “This is my body,” and “This is my blood” he was picturing what was soon to be. The matzah is pierced and bruised, and the blood of the grape is red. These emblems are to remind us at Passover OF HIS DEATH. The metaphor for “eating” and “drinking” his body and blood was mistaken to be LITERAL by several Pagan rulers, so they killed as many of these believers as they could find because they thought there was some sort of cannibalism involved.

The believers being killed didn’t even understand WHY they were being killed! But the believers were also LED ASTRAY by their enchanters, thinking the priests had some supernatural ability to call out certain Latin words, wave items in the air and, by some superior power in them, LITERALLY change bread and wine into the actual living body of the Messiah. Jesus meant that YHWH’s spirit would be IN US like the food we eat — not BE the food we eat!

The New Covenant is about receiving YHWH’s spirit — where He writes His Covenant Torah on our hearts and we obediently walk in the commandments. Our mind of the flesh no longer controls us — His does. We don’t receive YHWH’s spirit by eating bread. The bread we eat at Passover is to REMEMBER THE MESSIAH’S DEATH.

Catholic apologists tend to deflect from this issue, Catholic.com answers the question like this:

“When Catholics kneel before the statue of a saint, they are not worshipping the person depicted, let alone the stone or plaster image as such. Catholics don’t pray to images; they pray through them to the holy persons who are depicted. Sacred images help the faithful focus their minds and hearts when asking for a particular saint’s intercession. In other words, these images are instruments of prayer, not objects of prayer in the strict sense. The same would hold if the statue were an image of Jesus, our divine Savior.”

What a flimsy response. They kneel before statues and bones of dead men and pray “through” them to the people depicted upon them? (Prayers to the dead are called Necromancy, another forbidden abomination)

So you’re not even worshipping false Gods, you’re praying to dead men in the form of idol worship.

the KJV does use the actual Greek text of the Textus Receptus, while Douay-Rheims is a translation of the Latin Vulgate. So in that regard, the KJV is probably preferable as it went straight from Greek to English, as opposed to Greek to Latin to English.

The Vulgate is worse:

In fact, Pope Pius XII explained in a 1943 encyclical, Divino Afflante Spiritu, No. 21:

“And if the Tridentine Synod wished ‘that all should use as authentic’ the Vulgate Latin version, this, as all know, applies only to the Latin Church and to the public use of the same Scriptures; nor does it, doubtless, in any way diminish the authority and value of the original texts. For there was no question then of these texts, but of the Latin versions, which were in circulation at that time, and of these the same Council rightly declared to be preferable that which ‘had been approved by its long-continued use for so many centuries in the Church.’ Hence this special authority or as they say, authenticity of the Vulgate was not affirmed by the Council particularly for critical reasons, but rather because of its legitimate use in the Churches throughout so many centuries. …”

So, again, the Church backed the Vulgate for use by the Latin (Roman rite) Church and for public uses (such as liturgy), without implying that every word or verse in the Vulgate was actually accurate

King James Onlyists frequently argue that the KJV is superior because it is based on the Textus Receptus tradition, and Douay-Rheims Onlyists often argue for the Douay’s superiority from the fact that it is based on the Vulgate.

They argue that the Vulgate is superior on four grounds: (1) It is the official Bible of the Catholic Church; (2) it has been declared free of moral or theological error, (3) Jerome had access to manuscripts that we do not have today, and (4) he was a stupendous translator.

The first point is not true. There was a time when the Vulgate could be described as an “official” translation of Scripture for the Latin rite of the Church, but not the whole Church. It also never superseded the original language versions in authority (a point Pius XII made in Divino Afflante Spiritu21). But while the Vulgate in its latest edition—the “Neo-Vulgate” promulgated by John Paul II—has a privileged position based on its use in ecclesiastical documents, the law has changed such that there is no “official” translation of Scripture for the Latin rite.

The second point is true—ecclesiastical documents have acknowleged that the Vulgate is free of doctrinal and moral error. However, not containing doctrinal and moral error is not the same thing as being a perfect translation. In fact, it isn’t even the same thing as being a good translation. If someone utters the Spanish sentence ” La manzana es verde” and I translate that as “The apple is red,” then I have in not committed a moral or theological error, but I have committed a translation error (verde means green, not red).

In the same way, as Pius XII pointed out (DAS 20), this does not mean that the Vulgate always reflects accurately what is in the original texts. Sometimes it doesn’t.

The third point is true—Jerome did have manuscripts that we don’t have today—but this is misleading. He also lacked manuscripts that we do have, and he lacked the critical apparatus we have for sorting through textual variants.

One scholar, however brilliant, working in an age when textual criticism was still embryonic, was not as good as today’s community of scholars who are able to critically cross-examine each other’s work in an age in which the rules of textual criticism have been worked out much better. Further, no matter how many manuscripts Jerome had access to, it was not the thousands used by biblical scholars today.

Ronald Knox puts the manuscript point wryly when he writes, “You cannot, I think, be tied down to the statement that Saul was one year old when he came to the throne, merely because that is the construction which the Vulgate has put on an obviously defective Hebrew original” (Trials of a Translator, 29).

Finally, Jerome did not even translate certain books of the Vulgate; he simply incorporated extant Latin translations. Consequently, John Paul II notes that the Neo-Vulgate revision “was quite demanding in certain books of the Old Testament which Saint Jerome did not touch” (Scripturarum Thesaurus). These books scarcely provide an illustration of definitive textual criticism.

The fourth point—that Jerome was a stupendous translator—is true, especially for his era. He also had the advantage of being much closer to the time the biblical dialects were spoken, though koinaGreek (the dialect the New Testament is written in) already had evolved into a new dialect before his birth.

But to his disadvantage, Jerome learned these languages in a time before dictionaries and foreign language grammars had been invented. As a result, if a translator didn’t know a rare or unusual word or grammatical form, he couldn’t look it up. No matter how good a translator is, the worthiness of his work will be proportionate to how much he exerts himself—and sometimes Jerome did not exert himself very much. For example, he translated the book of Tobit in a single night.

Recently, I read one Douay-Rheims Onlyist booklet that actually praised this as a demonstration of Jerome’s linguistic prowess. One can only say that this demonstrates a lack of familiarity with how translation works. Nobody trying to do a careful job of translating a book of Scripture will rough out a translation in a single night and leave it at that.

The Vulgate in English?

Douay-Rheims Onlyists often represent the Douay as the only English translation of the Vulgate. It’s not. Ronald Knox’s translation of the Bible is also based on the Vulgate.

Even then, the Douay is not simply a translation of Jerome’s original. There is no pure edition of the Vulgate available, any more than there is a single, pure edition of the original Greek and Hebrew. When the Douay was translated, there were a number of editions of the Vulgate that differed from each other in varying degrees.

Furthermore, the editions of the Douay now in circulation are the Douay-Challoner version (or even more properly, revisions of the Douay-Challoner version), which has been corrected in light of the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts, meaning that it is not a pure translation of the Vulgate.

Challoner’s revisions were extensive—more than Douay-Rheims Onlyists commonly admit. They were not limited to updating spelling and punctuation. Regarding the extent of the revisions, Bernard Ward notes, “The changes introduced by him were so considerable that, according to Cardinal Newman, they ‘almost amounted to a new translation.’ So also, Cardinal Wiseman wrote, ‘To call it any longer the Douay or Rheimish Version is an abuse of terms. It has been altered and modified until scarcely any sense remains as it was originally published’” (Catholic Encyclopedia 1910 ed., s.v., “Douay Bible”).

Question: Wasn’t it the Catholic Church that was responsible for the Bible being written?

Answer: No. The Catholic Church tried to take credit for what the Lord did without their help.

Here is a short history of the Bible.

 

A. Old Testament

The Old Testament was written by Moses, David and Solomon, prophets, seers and kings. There was no “church” of any kind to claim responsibility for it. God inspired individuals to bring God’s word to the people. The Old Testament is the recorded revelation of God up until about 400 BC.

 

B. The Inter-Testamental Period

The time between about 400 BC and about 5 BC is usually called the Years of Prophetic Silence. This is because God created a process that lasted 400 years to create a world climate ready for the coming of the promised Messiah. There was no “church” at this time, either. But there was the new creation of the “synagogue,” since the Jewish people needed to worship God and did not have the Temple when they were in exile. When many came back 400-500 BC, they already had functional synagogues; and even though the Temple was being rebuilt by those returning from exile, the synagogue idea remained and more were built. This was the beginning of the “congregation” or “church” as we have it today.

But there was no Scripture being written during this period. That was yet to come after one came “in the spirit and power of Elias” (Luke 1:17).

 

C. The Time of Christ

It is likely that Matthew (Levi) the tax collector and later disciple of Jesus took notes of what happened during Jesus’ ministry. However, it is also true that were God in the flesh living among you, His words would burn into your soul. I am sure, as the apostles clearly recollected as they wrote the New Testament (2 Peter 1:16-21; 1 John 1:1-3; 4:14), they could not escape the image and words of Jesus Christ, God the Son and Son of God, when He spoke into their hearts (Luke 9:44; 24:32).

But it wasn’t a “church” that made them write.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

And

2 Peter 1:19-21
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

 

God the Holy Spirit inspired them, perfectly and accurately, to write the words of God for the church. The church did not “inspire” anything.

 

D. The Church Age

When the apostles wrote their letters, the congregations received them. They read them. They spread them. They copied them for other brethren in Christ Jesus. And they recognized their authority in the Christian’s life. So the Scriptures were produced by men of God, not by “the church.” But they were produced FOR the church.

The last book of the Bible was Revelation, written about 96 AD, just before the apostle John died around 100 AD. After the apostles died, the churches continued to collect the letters they did not have, to read them and understand the authority under God by which they wrote.

But no one else shared that place. There is an “epistle of Barnabas” (which bears no proof it was written by Barnabas), which many think was penned in the first century. But the difference between its message of salvation and of the apostolic writings is too easy to see. If you believe the Scriptures, you cannot believe the so-called “epistle of Barnabas.”

There are the writings of Polycarp, disciple of John (when John was very aged). There are writings of Clement and others. But those are all writings of Christians. Just Christians. Some were even martyrs, but their writings depended on the Scriptures–they were not Scripture themselves. Anyone who would base their faith on them would have a horrid foundation, just as if there were “Lutherans” today, learning of God’s word only what they find in Martin Luther’s writings. Interesting writing, at times “inspirational” writing, fine. Inspired? Not a chance.

The Roman Catholic church has had only one aim from its earliest, pagan and political origins: To destroy the true Christians, and to destroy their Bible. That is why they substituted the corrupt Alexandrian perversions of scripture, instead of using the preserved, prophetic and apostolic Words of God as found in Antioch of Syria, where “the disciples were first called Christians” (Acts 11:26). That is why they also added the Alexandrian writings we now call “Apocrypha” to their perverted bibles. That is why they used their Jesuits to infiltrate the Protestant Seminaries, Colleges and Bible Schools. Their Jesuits became the “teachers” and planted seeds of doubt in the Christians’ minds. These doubt-ridden Christians then taught at other colleges and schools. All the while they planted that same seed of doubt of God’s word in their students.

The stage was set: Once people no longer believed in God’s Preserved Words, which we find imperfectly presented in Tyndale’s Thomas Matthews Bible, they were ripe for destruction. Now, 120 years after the switch from the KJV (Corrupted Plagiarism of Thomas Matthews) to devil’s lies (the King James abandoned for the Alexandrian texts), while pretending to “improve” our copies of God’s words, they really set up the abandonment of God’s words. Now almost every Bible in the English-speaking world (and most other languages) is just another re-translation of the Alexandrian polluted stream.

Another way to view it is that the Scriptures as we find them preserved in the Thomas Matthews is like God’s fountain …

Jeremiah 2:13
13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

And that’s the point: The bible spewed out by the Catholic church, which now almost all Protestants and other Christians use, … simply doesn’t hold water.

(The “Queen of Heaven” title belongs historically to Ishtar/Semiramis, not Mary – Who is Not the Queen of Heaven, which has no Queen.)

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
